Capel Le Ferne Plotting Room august 2011

Visited with Space Invader ,Obscurity and Fortknox0...

This is on a site that was being dug out by the Kent Underground Research Group..think they fell out with landowners and tbh sod all seems to have happened up there since..There was several power lines running into this plotting room with working lights(if switched on) and a dehumidifier running...that said we did our thing with our torches and got the job done..

This was our 2nd splore of the day which for me started with the alarm waking me up at 2.30am ,quick cuppa and in the car and on the road by 3am.

After we’d got round sevs we headed for munch and then set off to meet Troglodyte and Peach for our tour round the labs..didn’t spend a huge amount of time here due to it being such a long day by the time we arrived,so not a huge amount of pics ,and none from the manor house.

Thanks to Trog and Peach for the invite and the tour round..did leave feeling a bit sad as to what the poor animals must have suffered in this place!!

Oil mills upper quick revisit

Popped into dover for another look at the oil mills upper and lower with Spacve Invader ,Fortknox0 Fatjameso and Obscurity and ian b....didnt take any shots of the lower part as three of us went for a crawl into the parts of the lower we'd not seen but heres a few p[ics from the upper

Lot of moisture in the air in the last 2 shots..and a bitch in general to light as its so burnt out

Hudsons Bastion Dover August 2011

Built in response to the threat of invasion by Napoleon, Hudson’s bastion was constructed on the eastern side of Dover Castle to improve its defences. It is linked to the castle via Hudson’s Passage. The bastion was designed to provide flanking fire from its numerous firing slits. The caponier projecting from the bastion into the ditch would have provided even more fire power for the defenders.
